We deliver a range of innovative projects across Kenya, tailored to meet the specific needs of the community.
This includes workshops, community forums/seminars, youth councils, and training and advisory support for professionals.
Each program is tailored to meet the specific needs of the community or group, with topics and areas of focus adapted to address the particular gaps and challenges identified in different counties and contexts.
This ensures that our projects are both relevant and accessible to all. Our programmes differ from traditional teachings and aim to provide learning that is suitable for both visual, auditory and kinesthetic learners.
We use trauma-informed, child- and young person-centred approaches to create safe spaces for exploring important topics, including:
- Mental Health and Wellbeing
- Healthy Relationships
- Puberty, Menstruation and Personal Hygiene
- Sexual Health
- Children’s Rights
- Child Abuse
- Female Genital Mutilation and Forced Marriage
- Trafficking and Exploitation
- Personal Safety
- Substance Misuse
- Grief and Bereavement
- Life Stories and Identity
- Displacement
- Climate Change
- Life Skills

Specifically, we work with children and young people aged 8 – 21, or up to 25, for young adults who have special educational needs and/or disabilities.
When donations are received, Upendo Tena Initiative also provides essential items for those children and young people living in rescue centres.
We are delighted to collaborate with various partners and associates, including the Community-Based Organisation (CBO) I_Rep Foundation and the the Community Interest Company (CIC) Give & Tea.
